This week in ELL...

Reminder: PARENT NIGHT!
ELL parent night is tonight, 10/3, from 7-8 p.m. in the LMC followed by a tour of the classroom. Come meet Miss Lundeen and Mrs. Krishnan and hear more about the ELL program!

Kindergarten: Continuing to work on identifying shapes and using language that is used to identify and compare/ contrast different shapes.

First Grade: We are continuing to work on identifying weather patterns and seasons. First grade is working on speaking and writing sentences identifying these different weather patterns that can be seen in each of the four seasons.

Second Grade: We are reinforcing their science classroom unit of the water cycle and understanding that cycles are continuous. We are creating water cycle wheels to help visualize each of the stages of the water cycle (precipitation, condensation, evaporation and accumulation). We will also be working on making observations and predictions.

Third Grade: We will be working on comparing and contrasting skills, defining and providing examples of synonyms, and making/ explaining observations through the use of their bones and muscles unit. These skills will all be practiced through what they have previously learned in this science unit in the regular classroom.

Fourth Grade: We will be working on making connections and making predictions through discussions about our government. We will be identifying different levels of government as well as examining the the three branches (Judicial, Legislative, Executive). We will read stories and work on connecting our prior knowledge with the new information as well as work on reading responses to the stories.

Fifth Grade: We will be working on making real world connections through non-fiction text. We will also practice reading responses to stories provided.
